What Cryptaurus is
Cryptaurus is a calm crypto reference for beginners. It is not an exchange and not a media outlet: nothing is bought or sold here, we don’t chase the news, and we don’t tell you “what to invest in”. We explain how things work and warn about mistakes — more like a library than a trading terminal.
Who it is for
For people who have only just started figuring it out and may not even know what to call what they’re looking for. Here crypto is a practical tool, not speculation: sending money to family abroad, protecting savings from inflation, getting paid as a freelancer. We write in four languages — Russian, English, Spanish and Portuguese — with Latin America and Russian-speaking countries in mind.
We ask one test question of every page: will someone understand this who came precisely because they don’t know yet?
What we do — and what we don’t
We do: explain in plain language with everyday analogies, show a source and date for verifiable facts, and warn about risks before an action, not after.
We don’t: give scores or build “top” lists, show prices, rates or charts, place referral or affiliate links, or ever advise which coin to buy. Why — in detail on the editorial policy page.
How the site is built
- Search by task, not by keyword — you can search “send money to family” or “avoid a scam”.
- Section hubs lead from a question to an answer: how crypto works, security, choosing an exchange and a wallet, taxes by country.
- Every verifiable fact carries a source and a verification date. Changing numbers (prices, fees) are not written into the text at all — instead there’s a “where to check” link, so the information doesn’t go stale.
